Foreign Institutions are allowed to invest in the Indian financial markets only after registering with the Securities & Exchange Board of India - www.sebi.gov.in Registered FIIs or their custodians then have to conform to local settlement and reporting requirements and complete tax filings.
The registration process is not complex, but occasionally confusion arises over terminology and descriptions used by FII's in their registration documents. B&K is happy to advise FII's on completion of the forms and/or proof read draft applications.
